An absolute gem! The best meal I've had in a restaurant in years! I had the lamb shank and couldn't believe how succulent and tender the meat was, literally fell off the bone. It came with a potato mash which was delicious and had a beautiful texture. The portions are very generous, everything tasted and looked divine from the food to the drinks, and the service is 10/10. Don't bother going anywhere else in St Albans until you have tried this restaurant!
Beautiful experience as always. I have celiac disease so don’t often find restaurants I am confident to eat in. Havin hasn’t let me down yet! Today I really wanted a desert. They went out of their way to ensure I had a nice treat! Thank you as always. See you again soon xxx
My third visit to Havin, but this time this was late afternoon, early evening rather than late evening. There were a few tables here and whilst we were there the whole ABBA 'Voyage' album was playing in the background which was slightly unusual - one of the staff must have been a big fan! Anyway, on to the food itself. We had a few mixed starters. All were absolutely delicious, but the standout was the goats cheese. Extremely light and flavoursome with a lovely strawberry pepper sauce! Try it - it was amazing! We then had a lamb and chicken shish each. They were so tender served with a nice portion of rice, all washed down with the perfect Turkish beer, EFES. Finished off with a nicely balanced lemon and lime cheesecake. Not too sweet and very very light. The staff, as always, were incredibly smiley and attentive, and the service was amazing. Not sure how much it was at it was birthday treat. But price wise, it is very good value for money.
Had a delicious lunch of Iskender and beyti Adana kebab. The food was incredibly tasty and we loved the view from the window seat onto the square. Friendly and attentive service made it a brilliant experience. Would highly recommend if you’re after some great Turkish.
BETTER THAN AYOSS!!! We came last weekend as a group of 24 people for my 30th birthday. I’d originally booked Ayos but they decided it was ok to cancel my booking 2 days before my party. So when I asked if Havin would save my birthday they made every effort to look after us. The service was incredible, Aysh was a superstar she went above and beyond to make it special. Mahmut was incredible too so grateful thank you! This is the only Turkish restaurant in St Albans you should be going to!
6pm 31.5.25 - Warm welcome and amazing atmosphere. Sat by the large open windows looking out towards the clock tower. Staff are friendly and attentative. Some seemed well known to the community and treat customers like old friends. Food was amazing. Delicious and perfectly cooked. Given Rice instead of Bulgar but this was rectified very quickly. I am unable to eat lettuce so the chefs made me my own salad garnish which I really appriciated. If you had any questions the team were more than happy to answer them. Like the pomegranate sauce gluing the ice cream bowls to the dessert plates (very yummy!). The place was clean and tidy and well cared for. I highly recomend this place and will be back again :) Thank you for the great experience! Both front and back of house teams!
